welcome

who is Brent and what is Solvix?

Brent (me) has many years of software experience in the industry.  At present I have spent the past 5+ years managing a support and development team, as well as serving as an individual contributor, for a prominent hardware manufacturing firm in Folsom, California.  I spend most of my time designing and developing various solutions using Microsoft-based platforms, but love challenges and am open to anything new.

Solvix is the business name I use to conduct my technical consulting and development as.  'Nuff said.

I have taught a number of technical courses at local colleges, have been developing solutions for the enterprise since the late 90's, and am well-versed in multiple programming languages and toolsets.  C#/ASP.Net/SQL are my preferred tools.

This website is essentially a springboard for my web presence, but also a place to showcase some of the technologies I am actively involved in.  The most up-to-date information can always found at my blog at http://solvix.blogspot.com, if I ever get to updating it.

Feel free to contact me for new projects, questions/support on existing projects, or anything else.

RESUME | BRIEF PORTFOLIO

what I'm doing

Althought web technologies are my favorite, I'm also actively working with ...

  • ASP.Net Scaling
Optimizing existing ASP.Net applications to scale well.
  • Virtualization
True enterprise-ready virtualization solutions in both Windows Server 2008 R1 and R2, as well as other familiar workstation solutions (VM Ware, ...).
  • Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)/Silverlight
    Next generation web-based technologies.
  • Microsoft BI
Attempting to port over existing solutions to a more extensible format.

Even if it's not listed here, I'm sure I have some familiarity with what you're working with.
